Benidorm has a coastline that stretches for kilometres in both directions — and the best way to discover it all, without breaking a sweat, is from the saddle of an electric bike. This summer, we are offering guided e-bike tours north to Albir and the hilltop village of Altea, and south to the colourful streets of Villajoyosa and the legendary Valor chocolate factory.

The Perfect Way to Start Your Summer

There is a moment every year when summer truly arrives on the Costa Blanca. The sea turns that particular shade of deep turquoise, the evenings stay golden until nine, and the air carries the faint scent of orange blossom from the surrounding groves. If you are going to kick off that season in style, you do it on two wheels.

Our guided e-bike tours were built for exactly this feeling. They take you away from the hotel pool and the beachfront terraces — not far, but far enough — through natural parks, ancient fishing villages, and whitewashed hilltop streets that the vast majority of Benidorm visitors never see. And because these are electric bikes, the effort is entirely up to you. Push hard and feel the wind, or let the motor carry you gently through the scenery. Either way, you arrive.

"The Costa Blanca's most beautiful places are not in Benidorm — they are just beyond it. An e-bike is the perfect key to unlock them."

Two Routes, Two Worlds

We offer guided e-bike tours in both directions from Benidorm. Head north along the coast and you pass through the quiet natural beauty of Albir before climbing to the whitewashed hilltop village of Altea. Head south and you follow the shoreline to the vivid, candy-coloured old town of Villajoyosa — home to Spain's most beloved chocolate brand, Valor, and some of the most distinctive beaches on the entire Costa Blanca.

North
Benidorm → Albir → Altea

Cycle the coast through Sierra Helada Natural Park to the tranquil seaside village of Albir, then push on to Altea's iconic whitewashed old town and blue-domed hilltop church. Approximately 25–30 km return.

South
Benidorm → Villajoyosa

Follow the coastal path 13 km south to Villajoyosa — one of Spain's most colourful towns — and visit the famous Valor chocolate factory and museum. A feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

Going North: Albir, the Natural Park & Altea

The northern route is our most popular guided e-bike tour, and it is easy to understand why. You leave Benidorm's lively beachfront and within minutes you are cycling through dedicated coastal paths that wind past orange and lemon groves, skirting the edge of the Sierra Helada Natural Park — a protected headland of pine forest and dramatic limestone cliffs that drops straight into the Mediterranean.

Stop One

Albir — Quiet Charm on the Costa Blanca

Albir is everything that a Mediterranean village should be: unhurried, beautiful, and slightly hidden. Its long pebbly beach is flanked by a promenade of palm trees, and the town itself has a relaxed, residential quality that makes for a perfect mid-ride stop. The lighthouse at the end of the Sierra Helada headland is one of the most photogenic spots on the entire Costa Blanca — a short detour absolutely worth your time.

Stop Two

Altea — The White Village Above the Sea

Push on from Albir and the road climbs gently toward one of the most photographed towns in Spain. Altea's old town sits on a hilltop above a small harbour, a maze of cobblestone alleys, whitewashed walls, and flowering balconies that tumbles down toward the sea. At the very top stands the Church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo — its electric-blue tiled dome is the image that defines the entire Costa Blanca. From the terrace beside it, the view takes in the full sweep of the bay from Benidorm's skyline to the Cap de la Nau headland in the distance.

New cycle path: A dedicated bicycle route now connects Benidorm, Albir, and Altea with separated cycle lanes for most of the route — making this one of the safest and most enjoyable coastal rides anywhere in Spain.

Going South: Villajoyosa & the Chocolate Factory

Head south from Benidorm and the ride is shorter — Villajoyosa is just 13 kilometres away — but the payoff is enormous. The coastal path drops gently away from the city, passes a series of quiet coves, and then delivers you into one of the most visually striking towns on the Mediterranean coast.

Destination South

Villajoyosa — Where Every House Tells a Story

Villajoyosa's old fishermen's quarter is a riot of colour. The houses along the waterfront are painted in reds, yellows, blues, oranges, and greens — and not by accident. The tradition goes back centuries: fishermen would paint their homes in vivid, unique colours so that they could recognise their house from out at sea. Today those same houses are one of the most photographed sights on the entire Costa Blanca, and the town's golden beach, freshly-caught seafood, and relaxed atmosphere make it one of the region's most rewarding day trips.

Unmissable Stop

Valor Chocolate Factory — Free Museum & Factory Tour

Founded in 1881 and still owned by the same family five generations later, Valor is Spain's most beloved chocolate brand — and their factory and museum in Villajoyosa offer one of the most unique experiences on the Costa Blanca. The free museum tour takes approximately 45 minutes and walks you through the complete history and process of Spanish chocolate-making, finishing, naturally, at the tasting area. English-language tours run daily at 10:00 and 16:00 Monday to Friday, and at 10:00 on Saturdays. After five years of riding past on buggies and quads, we can confirm: this one is absolutely worth stopping for.

"Villajoyosa is 13 kilometres and a world away. Ride there once and you will understand why the locals have kept it to themselves."

Why E-Bike? Because You Deserve to Enjoy the View

We hear the same thing from guests time and again: they love the idea of cycling along the coast, but they are on holiday and not looking to arrive at Altea completely drenched. Electric bikes solve this entirely. The motor provides as much or as little assistance as you want — pedal hard and get a proper workout, dial back the effort and cruise with the sea breeze doing the heavy lifting. Either way, you get there, and you get there enjoying every kilometre.

Our guided tours are led by local experts who know every viewpoint, every hidden terrace café, and every shortcut worth knowing. The group pace is relaxed and social — this is not a race, it is an experience. And because our bikes are high-quality e-bikes with reliable battery range and comfortable saddles, even guests who have not ridden a bike in years tend to finish the tour grinning.

All fitness levels welcome. Electric assist means these tours are suitable for guests of all ages and abilities. Our guides set a pace that works for the whole group. If you have specific requirements, just let us know when you book and we will make it work.
